About

Hi! I’m so glad to have you here!

My name is Renee and I am a cheerleader for messy brains everywhere. I am the originator of the Aztec Hole concept, the idea that for some new ideas, there is only a small, random path into our brains. My entire life has been spent trying to figure my own brain out. It’s exhausting! If you struggle with focus, losing things, and holding on to thoughts, you’re in the right place.

Although it may seem like my track record for organization isn’t very good, my ideas would say otherwise. Everyday, I come up with novel ways to hack my brain’s shortcomings, ready to share them with you.

As a creative thinker, I have diverse interests and talents – some label me a “multipotentialite” or “scanner” (a term popularized by Barbara Sher to describe people who love exploring multiple paths). I have held the titles of artist, writer, designer, and technology support person. My combined experiences of over thirty years, plus raising a family, gives me plenty to talk about.

I am guessing your special brain also has its own story to tell.

My message: it’s OK to be wired the way you are. Whether you’re disorganized, struggle with focus, overthink, or display other such attention deficit (ADD/ADHD) tendancies, I’m here to help. On these pages and my YouTube channel, you will find ways to cope with everyday life and find self-acceptance.

We’re all in this together. This is a place to lasso your thoughts and discover tips and tricks to improve your quality of life.

Thank you for being part of this journey!

-Renee Matt

Hares are known for their jumpiness, and they’re also not the smartest creatures on Earth. This is how we get the adjective harebrained, which refers to these perceived qualities of the hare and usually means flighty, reckless, or badly thought out.
